December 2010 QC trial
|
![]() |
Hi Team
We finished off 2010 with a veryenjoyable Limit Field Trial and QC which attracted eight good dogs, three ofwhom achieved the title of QC for pointer/setter. The letters QC are nowincorporated into the dogs’ official, registered names. It was a brilliant dayand a very good ground with a nice height of grass to run on.
The results were as follows:-
1st. Gail Blankley’s“Kate”-Jagdhunde North Western n Black QC
2nd. Alan Cowden’s“Stein”-Jagdhunde Moonlight Bluez QC
3rd. Pauline Walsh’s“Zara”-Madnco Just a Breeze QC
Our thanks to the judging Team; JudgeMac McArthur was ably assisted by Bird-boy Craig Taylor and Steward Viv Canham.
To those competitors who were notawarded the QC, thanks for entering. I am sure you all gained from theexperience. If it were easy, we would not bother to trial. Better luck nexttime.
Mac was very generous with his timeand advice, with entertaining stories of past trials.
This trial was a first for me asTrial Captain. I have been training dogs and handlers for about thirty years. Ihave been field trialing for only nine years with my present dog KilsheelanO’Flaccus QC. It was a great experience this time not to run a dog myself butto oversee the organisation on the day. I really enjoyed it. I greatlyappreciate the hard work our President David Lowe and long serving committeeman Alan Cowden have put into the Club’s field trials over the years. I wasdelighted that my efforts allowed them to compete without the burden oforganisation and effort that they have carried in past years. Gail Blankley ourSecretary ran three dogs, a no mean feat. Congratulations on her success with“Kate”, a bitch of her own breeding. Gail’s dedication to the Club ensures weoperate as a complete gundog organisation involved in show, field, the breed’simprovement and training.
We made the acquaintance of five newpeople (German and English Pointer owners) who had been referred us by the North Auckland Gundog Club. We hope to see them again inthe New Year when we recommence our club activities.
We have worked with the North Auckland Club over the past few years to thebenefit for our members. Although our club’s primary interest is in GSP ownerswe have an open membership and two of our new members Ryen Carlson and RobGaastra are currently trialing Weimaraners as well as owning GSPs. Our QC Trialcoincided with NAGC end of year retriever trials, held on a nearby Helensvilleproperty. Ryen and Rob attended after completing our pointer/setter Limitevent.
A very busy day for them and theywere both placed as follows:-
Novice Retriever (Land & Water)
Rob Gaastra’s “Nova” (Wei) 2nd. Land& 2nd. Agg.
Ryen Carlson’s “Snoka” (Wei) 3rd. Land & 3rd. Agg.
Congratulations to such keencompetitors.
